Red Cabbage

Ingredients

– 2 jars red cabbage
1
– 2 yellow onions

tablespoons
margarine or butter
2
– 3 sour apples
Granny Smith is good

– 1 ½ teaspoon salt

teaspoon
ground clove
1/2
teaspoon
allspice

dl.
Raisins
2
teaspoons
sugar + 1 – 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar or lemon juice
Instructions
Peel and slice the onion.
Cut the apples in thin wedges. Leave on seeds and skin.
Heat up butter in a pan; add the cabbage, onions, and apples.
Cover, and cook for 5 minutes.
Add salt, spices and raisins. Cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add the sugar and vinegar or lemon juice
Notes
This dish complements most pork meats and sausages very well.
