Red Cabbage
 Servings 4 -5
Ingredients
- 1 – 2 jars red cabbage
 - 1 – 2 yellow onions
 - 2 tablespoons margarine or butter
 - 2 – 3 sour apples Granny Smith is good
 - 1 – 1 ½ teaspoon salt
 - 1/2 teaspoon ground clove
 - 1/2 teaspoon allspice
 - 1 dl. Raisins
 - 2 teaspoons sugar + 1 – 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar or lemon juice
 
Instructions
- Peel and slice the onion.
 - Cut the apples in thin wedges. Leave on seeds and skin.
 - Heat up butter in a pan; add the cabbage, onions, and apples.
 - Cover, and cook for 5 minutes.
 - Add salt, spices and raisins. Cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
 - Add the sugar and vinegar or lemon juice
 
Notes
This dish complements most pork meats and sausages very well.
